Community Service

Jesus states in Mark 10:45 “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” At the Oakwood University Church we seek to follow the example of Jesus. Through multiple inreach and outreach ministries we strive to serve those around us who may be hurting, in need, or without.

Heaven’ Storehouse is the Oakwood University Church Food Pantry and Distribution ministry. Each Monday morning members of the church band together to serve hundreds of individual. Those who come are able to receive all types of food that will help them feed themselves and their families.

Tabitha’s Corner is the Oakwood University Clothing ministry. Each Sunday morning members join together to distribute different clothing and household items to church members, students, and community residents alike.

Oakwood University Church Family Life Center

On September 4, 2016 we at the Oakwood University Church broke ground for our new Family Life Center. Within this building we will house many of our community service ministries like Tabitha’s Corner and Heaven’s Storehouse. The erecting of this building will also provide us the opportunity to expand and create new ministries that will allow us to serve the community in an amazing way. With God’s blessing and many prayers we plan on opening the doors of this new facility Fall of 2017.
